▶ Last song listened to: My daughter’s piano rendition of “I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas” as she prepares for her winter recital.
▶ On the bucket list: Run a full marathon.
Q: What drew you to Strata Health?
A: It was so long ago that my memory is a bit foggy…but I recall being impressed with the people, the cohesive culture and the can-do attitude right from day one.
Q: How long have you been with the company?
A: 17 years.
Q: What does your job entail?
A: Steering the ship for all things integration at Strata Health. That means leading the integration development team, but also building customer relationships, learning about their technology, and designing the best solution for making our systems work together.
Q: What do you think sets you apart in your field?
A: Always saying yes when someone asks for help.
Q: What challenges have you faced in your career?
A: Each project our team undertakes is unique, we have to learn about workflows, understand customer culture, get familiar with their technical capabilities and limitations, and figure out how to work together. So I guess the challenge is that there is no such thing as a “comfort zone” for me!
Q: Tell us about a professional success story that you’re proud of.
A: I think back to when I first joined Strata Health in 2006, it was to help man the support desk. That was a much simpler task at the time compared to today. Strata Health only had a handful of customers, and our application suite was still in its infancy. The success story is seeing our application grow and evolve over all those years. And as our install footprint expands, knowing that our system is helping more and more clinicians and patients all the time.
Q: What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
A: Under-promise, over-deliver!
Q: How would your best friend describe you in three words?
A: Clever, stubborn, sarcastic!
Q: Tell us a surprising or fun fact about you.
A: I think I was the first person at Strata Health to have a full time work-from-home arrangement, leaving the office way back in 2009. It was far from the norm back then but thankfully Don and Kevin took a chance on me!
