Q: What drew you to Strata Health?
A: The people and the mission. Every day I get to work with smart, passionate people who truly care about improving healthcare, and that’s work worth being proud of!
Q: How long have you been with the company?
A: Officially? Three years, but I worked with the team as a consultant long before that.
Q: What does your job entail?
A: I lead all things marketing and communications at Strata Health, driving global strategy and regional campaigns across Canada, the US, and the UK.
Q: What do you think sets you apart in your field?
A: I bring a well-rounded skillset – strategy, execution, project management, and measurement. I’m a self-starter and learner who’s always looking for ways to improve and make a bigger impact. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, and I’m not afraid to collaborate, test, learn, and pivot.
Q: What challenges have you faced in your career?
A: Figuring out my strengths and style took time, especially with the pressure to fit a certain mold. Early in my career, I thought I had to have all the answers. But in such a broad and fast-paced industry, I’ve learned that no one can be everything for everyone – and that’s okay! Real growth comes from asking questions, owning your gaps, and staying open to learning. I’ve come to value honesty and vulnerability at work, far more than pretending like you’ve got it all figured out.
Q: Tell us about a professional success story that you’re proud of.
A: I’m proud of the range of creative and strategic work I’ve led. My agency experience gave me the chance to work across industries developing marketing strategies, PR campaigns, strategic rebrands, websites, events, podcasts, and more. One standout project was with the Alberta Association of Midwives while I was pregnant myself. It was incredibly meaningful to learn about their role in family care, and it even influenced my own decision to choose midwifery. That personal connection made the work especially rewarding.
Q: What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
A: Trust yourself. Be yourself. Authenticity is a superpower.
Q: How would your best friend describe you in three words?
A: Beauty, power, grace
Q: Tell us a surprising or fun fact about you.
A: I had what I can only assume was my first (and only) panic attack while getting my scuba certification in Cuba. Breathing underwater didn’t feel natural at first, but once I embraced it, it was pure magic. We only ran into sharks once, and fortunately, I still have all my limbs! That said, I preferred swimming with dolphins in Hawaii and have had enough shark encounters for a lifetime.
