March 12, 2008 – VICTORIA, BC – A groundbreaking web-based Mental Health & Addictions eReferral service went live today in Victoria, British Columbia. The launch marked the culmination of more than two years of clinical partnership between Strata Health Solutions, the Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA), Canada Health Infoway and Cerner Canada.
“This has been one of the most complex and exciting partnerships our firm has entered into to date,” said Strata Health CEO Don Schick. “We have worked together with VIHA to map over 200 Mental Health & Addictions services within the Victoria metro into the Strata PathWays™ referral software. This project leverages technology to make a real difference in health outcomes for this very vulnerable population. We are very proud of that and see potential for use in many jurisdictions.”
VIHA clinicians will refer clients to optimal care resources with the click of a mouse. They now have real-time service availability and wait times instantly at hand. Mental Health & Addictions services are widely distributed in the Victoria area – but now, MDs and clinicians can review and action, on a single screen, all appropriate services summarized and matched to patients’ clinical needs.
