Welcome back to another edition of our Staff Spotlight series, where we highlight the exceptional team members at Strata Health. Today, we’re excited to introduce you to John Miller, Director – Client Services Strata Health, UK.

▶ Favourite food: I like most types of food and will eat almost anything. My favourite, if I had to say, would be good English gastro pub fare! Slow roast pork belly! 
▶ Hobbies: Ukulele, gym, camping and caravan trips (I own a VW campervan and caravan!), currently learning piano, shooting.
▶ Currently binge-watching: I’ve just finished watching Band of Brothers and am moving to The Pacific.
▶ Last song listened to: Elvis (soundtrack) – If I can dream. 
▶ On the bucket list: Visit Japan. 

Q: What drew you to Strata Health?   

A:  Being part of something  

Q: How long have you been with the company?    

A:   13 years (14 in April)! 

Q: What does your job entail?   

A:  Everything (kind of!). Currently I oversee client operations, ensuring Strata PathWays client accounts are managed, serviced and supported to the highest standards. 

Q: What do you think sets you apart in your field?  

A:   My ability to adapt and apply myself to varied challenges across the business.  

Q: What challenges have you faced in your career?   

A:  Losing a close work colleague last year was tough both personally as he was a good friend, and professionally as his loss created a large gap in the business.  

Early in my career I didn’t have a degree, so went to Uni as a mature student. That was hard, 3 years out of work and studying with much younger students. 

Q: Tell us about a professional success story that you’re proud of.   

A:  Hiring graduate implementation consultants. One still with the business. 

Seeing the Strata ED BaRS solution through to successful delivery. 

Q: What is the best advice you’ve ever received?     

A:   Do the job you want rather than the job you have. 

When muck gets flung we all get covered! 

Take responsibility. 

Q: How would your best friend describe you in three words?   

A:  Honest, tenacious, perceptive.

Q: Tell us a surprising or fun fact about you.   

A:   I’m part of a local charity group and last year stood in for Santa on a sleigh run. So dressed as Santa on a moving sleigh!
