Q: What drew you to Strata Health?

A: Strata always strived to put the human aspect of any interaction or service first. It made it easy to join the team knowing that their aim was and still is to make a tangible difference in healthcare.

Q: How long have you been with the company?

A: Over 14 years. Started off my journey in Implementation, and currently serve as Director of Client Experience, Canada.

Q: What does your job entail?

A: I’m fortunate enough to be able to listen to client’s needs across Canada. One day I could be establishing / updating integration between an Hospital Information System and our software and the next demo’ing new features that could help a clinician’s workflow be less work.

Q: What do you think sets you apart in your field?

A: I personally believe that I’ve strived to get to know the person behind the request; the software is only reflecting the human need.

Q: What challenges have you faced in your career?

A: A constantly changing Technical & Legislative environment. Health care is very demanding in terms of evolving technology from various vendors internationally. Legislative rules can change quickly province by province, so it’s been important to establish good lines of communication with health organizations using our software.

Q: Tell us about a professional success story that you’re proud of.

A: During my time in Implementation, we had implemented a few hospitals in what was back then known as Central LHIN. At the time, the users looked at it as “just another system” but I promised to come back and implement integration – shortly after I did just that nearly alleviating the need for any manual entry at all.

Q: What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

A: Leadership is easy when the waves are calm. Sometimes you must accept being a ‘Wartime General’ and see the mission through. Take inventory of the resources you have that can effect real change towards resolution and prepare to mitigate issues you can’t control.

Q: How would your best friend describe you in three words?

A:  Determined, Techy, Witty.

Q: Tell us a surprising or fun fact about you.

A: I was in a music video once in my younger days.
